The kid was sick on Sunday night. I thought she was being dramatic. And then I took her temperature.
I stayed home with her on Monday and her temperature was almost normal that evening. On Tuesday morning her temperature was normal so she went to school. She also wasn't feeling poorly.
When she got home it was a different story. She called me while I drove home and told me about how hot she felt and that she was convinced she had a fever. I told her to take her temperature. She said it was high. I asked her to clarify. She did.
Her temperature was 98.8.
I'm not sure why she thought that was a fever - especially since we have an idiot proof thermometer that glows green if you're okay, yellow if your temperature is slightly elevated and red if you have a fever. Apparently it isn't really idiot proof.
